The American Association of Equine Practitioners is in the process of appointing veterinarians to a task force that will provide a list of commonly used therapeutic medications to the Testing Integrity Program, a laboratory oversight group. TIP requested the list so that the program could begin to develop "threshold levels" - quantities of a drug in a horse's postrace sample that would not have an effect on performance - for common racetrack drugs. . . . Peninsula Gaming Partners LLC, which has a conditional agreement to purchase 50 percent of Evangeline Downs in Lafayette, La., asked the Louisiana Gaming Board on Tuesday to begin a background check of their company in preparation for a future gaming license request to operate slots at the track. . . .
