Louis Bellocq, a longtime jockey and trainer in France, and the younger brother of Daily Racing Form contributor Pierre Bellocq, died in France on Jan. 29 at age 75 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Collette, four adult children, and several grandchildren. . . . Jamilah ($10), a half-sister to Magic Weisner, the runner-up to War Emblem in both the Preakness Stakes and Haskell Invitational last year, scored her first lifetime victory against $18,000 maiden claimers at Laurel Park on Sunday. Jamilah and Magic Weisner are both out of the dam Jazema and are owned and trained by Nancy Alberts. . . . The 18th annual Maryland Million Day, showcasing Maryland-sired horses, is scheduled for Oct. 11 at Laurel Park. The feature race is the $200,000 Maryland Million Classic. . . . Confucius Say, horse of the year at Charles Town the past two years, will parade between races at the West Virginia track on the Feb. 17 Presidents Day holiday card, which begins at 1 p.m. Eastern.
