John Amerman, the former chief executive of Mattel, has been appointed to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's board of directors by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, which has a reserved seat on the board. Amerman will replace Robert Clay, who has served on the board since the NTRA's inception in 1998. . . . FedEx, the package-delivery company that also transports racehorses by air, has signed an agreement with the NTRA to act as one of the racing industry's official suppliers. Under the program, racing businesses will be encouraged to use FedEx for deliveries. . . . Retired Hall of Fame rider Chris McCarron is the narrator of a newly released video by the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. In the five-minute video, McCarron reviews the 62-year history of the foundation, including important equine research funded by the organization.
