EmailGolden Hare, who leads all horses in wins in North America in 2007, picked up his 13th victory of the year Thursday night at Sam Houston Race Park. The win came in a $5,000 starter allowance at five furlongs on turf, and he led throughout for a 4 1/2-length victory under Jose Figueroa. . . . The producers of the documentary film "The First Saturday in May," which profiles six trainers on their way to the 2006 Kentucky Derby, have pledged 25 percent of the film's box office receipts, as well as a portion of the revenue from the film's release on DVD, to the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation for research beneficial to horses. The film is scheduled to open around the country the week of April 25, 2008. . . . There are 187 horses cataloged to the Fasig-Tipton Texas winter mixed sale at Lone Star Park on Sunday. The auction - featuring broodmares, broodmare prospects, weanlings, and horses of racing age - is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Central.
