A 5-year-old Danzig horse who will stand for $6,500, Defer won the 2004 Laurel Futurity. . . . Pavarotti, the stakes-winning A. P. Indy colt who set a nine-furlong track record of 1:49.75 when he won the Round Table Stakes at Arlington in July, has retired to stand at Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds in Ocala, Fla. A 3-year-old out of group-placed Snow Forest, by Woodman, he will stand for $6,500.
