Magna Entertainment Corp. has reached an agreement to sell 157 acres of land adjacent to its Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida to its parent company, MI Developments, for $35 million in cash. The agreement includes a provision that will allow Magna to share in 15 percent of the net proceeds from any resale or development of the property, the company said in a release. . . .Trainer Edward Clouston won the 1,000th race of his career Tuesday when favored Unsung Angels scored a 2 3/4-length victory in the seventh race at Mountaineer Race Track. . . . Beulah Park honored jockey Otto Thorwarth on Wednesday for scoring his 1,000th career victory after he guided Crafty Roberto to a 16-length score in the fifth race. Crafty Roberto was Thorwarth's third winner on the card. . . . Woodbine has lifted a ban on horses shipping into Woodbine from West Virginia, according to Woodbine's director of racing, Tom Cosgrove. West Virginia had been the last state facing a ban due to the threat of equine herpesvirus.
