Etc. . . .

This year's Kentucky Derby Day, Preakness Day, and Belmont Stakes Day have been established as national fund-raising dates for the Barbaro Memorial Fund division of National Thoroughbred Racing Association Charities. Racetracks and other organizations will stage fund-raising drives during the Triple Crown with the goal of raising $1 million for the fund, created to raise money for equine health research in the name of the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner who died after breaking a leg in the Preakness. . . . The Belmont Bash charity event hosted by the New York Racing Association and The Jockey Club will be held June 8 at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City. The event will benefit the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and will feature cocktails, dinner, and a performance by the Beatles tribute band the Fab Faux.
