Thoroughbred breeder and owner and Jockey Club member Shirley Taylor has died in Billings, Mont., at age 83, The Blood-Horse reported Thursday. Taylor was a former president of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association and a co-owner of two-time Arc de Triomphe winner Alleged. . . The 48,000-square foot casino at Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pa., which contains 2,000 slot machines, was scheduled to open for business on Friday. Presque Isle, which is scheduled to conduct Thoroughbred racing beginning this September, is the fourth racino to open in Pennsylvania following Philadelphia Park, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, and Harrah’s Chester Downs.
