Selvatica, a 6-year-old multiple-stakes-winning mare by Forestry out of the Strawberry Road mare Pareja, set a Barretts January mixed sale record on Monday when she sold for $560,000 to Narvick International, agent, from the consignment of Havens Bloodstock Agency Inc., agent for Granja Vista Del Rio. . . . Turf Paradise canceled racing after one race on Sunday and the entire card Monday after heavy rain in the Phoenix area battered the track. Racing was expected to resume Tuesday, and the $40,000 Rattlesnake Stakes, scheduled for Sunday, is to be brought back Friday. . . . Beulah Park canceled the final five races of its 10-race program on Monday after the jockeys refused to ride, citing unsafe track conditions. . . . . Turfway Park canceled its Sunday card because of icy and inclement weather in the area. The Florence, Ky., track is expected to resume live action Wednesday evening. . . . Jockey Terry Thompson won the 2,000th race of his career Sunday at Oaklawn Park, aboard Peace Pledge ($6) in the fifth race. . . . Grey Goose vodka has reached an agreement with Breeders’ Cup Ltd. to sponsor the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, to be run on Oct. 27 at Monmouth Park. The agreement also designates Grey Goose as the “official spirit” of the Breeders’ Cup and its partner, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. . . . Ismael Trejo, currently a state steward at Charles Town, has been appointed racing secretary at Delaware Park, replacing Sam Abbey, who held the post since 2002. Before coming to Charles Town, Trejo was Delaware Park’s stakes coordinator.
