Mike Jensen, a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, has been awarded the 2006 Eclipse Award for writing in the category of features or enterprise reporting, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association announced Friday. Jensen was given the Eclipse, his second, for a May 28 front-page profile of Dr. Dean Richardson, the chief surgeon at the University of Pennsylvania's equine hospital, who operated on Barbaro following the Kentucky Derby-winning colt's injury in the May 20 Preakness Stakes. . . . Television Games Network, the national horse racing broadcasting channel, began simulcasting races from England and Ireland on Friday at 9 a.m. The simulcasts will be shown every morning beginning at 9, TVG said, through a previously announced partnership with the British racing channel At The Races.
