Sam Houston Race Park and sponsor Gallery Furniture have set Jan. 30 as the date for a proposed $1.5 million stakes designed to attract Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta. Officials said the unnamed 1 1/8-mile race is still in the planning stages and could be open to male rivals, but will only be conducted if it draws both Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta. . . . Ro Parra's Millennium Farms in Kentucky will ship 30 mares to Louisiana after forming a partnership with John Turner's Moon Lake Farm in Elm Grove, La. Moon Lake has changed its name to Millennium Farms at Moon Lake and bought fractional interests in the mares, most of whom Parra said are in foal to Millennium's Kentucky stallions Student Council, Zanjero, and Even the Score. . . . The Jockey Club has elected four new members, the organization announced on Wednesday. The members are Headley Bell, the managing partner of Mill Ridge Farm and president of Nicoma Bloodstock; Jon S. Kelly, the owner of Tres Palomas farm in California; Jerry Moss, an owner-breeder who co-founded A&M Records; and Daisy Phipps Pulito, the racing manager of her family's Phipps Stable.
