Trainer Gerald Bennett, a 65-year-old native of Springhill, Nova Scotia, sent out the 3,000th winner of his career Friday when Shegoestoeleven won a photo finish in the eighth race at Presque Isle Downs. Shegoestoeleven shipped to the Erie, Pa., track from Thistledown, where Bennett holds a commanding lead in the trainer standings. Bennett's most successful horse was Beau Genius, a winner of 19 of 42 starts and $1,055,600. . . . Miguel Perez won the 1,000th race of his career Monday at the Downs at Albuquerque, when he guided Royal Orchard ($4.80) to a 3 1/2-length win in the fourth race. Perez was aboard for trainer Jon Arnett.
