The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission was scheduled to hold a closed-door hearing Wednesday on an appeal lodged by veterinarian Rod Stewart, the racetrack practitioner who was suspended last year for five years because of several medication violations, including the discovery of vials of the prohibited neurotoxin cobra venom in a cooler at Keeneland Racecourse. The cooler was located in the barn of trainer Patrick Biancone, who was suspended for a year for his role in the matter.
