Etc. . . .

Jock Jocoy, a prominent equine veterinarian for nearly 40 years in California, died at his home in Del Mar, Calif., on Saturday at age 82 after a lengthy illness, according to a statement released by Del Mar. Jocoy had a private practice at Southern California tracks from 1955 until 1983, attending to horses including the champions Swaps, Ack Ack, Cougar II and Buckpasser. . . . Fort Erie-based trainer John Wilson, 88, died apparently of a heart attack Saturday night after being kicked by a horse in the saddling area at Presque Isle Downs. Track officials said that Wilson was saddling a 2-year-old when the horse reared up, striking him in the face and the chest.
