Trainer Mark Casse recorded his 1,000th career victory when Laragh won Saturday’s first race at Woodbine. Casse, 47, was voted the Sovereign Award as Canada’s outstanding trainer in 2006 and 2007. . . . Josean Ramirez won with his first and second career mounts at Laurel Park on Friday. Ramirez, 21, guided Sir Classic Chris to a neck victory for trainer King Leatherbury in the second race and then won the third race on Resters Red Bullet. . . . The date for the Lincoln Handicap at Ruidoso Downs, which is a next-race option for the undefeated Peppers Pride, has been moved from Aug. 30 to Aug. 31 to maximize television coverage of the race, the track announced.
