Hastings racecourse in Vancouver, British Columbia, has added three days to its 2008 meeting: three Fridays, Sept. 12, 19, and 26. The Hastings meeting, which opens April 26, now will run 71 days. . . . Suffolk Downs has named Sam Elliott, a longtime New England Thoroughbred racing official, as its vice president of racing and promoted its stakes coordinator, Tom Creel, to racing secretary. The previous racing secretary, Jim Pambianchi, is now senior director of operations. . . . Beulah Park canceled live racing Tuesday because snow and freezing rain in the Columbus, Ohio, area. . . . Australia's William Inglis and Son auction house will introduce a new-sire showcase at its June 26-30 Australian weanling and breeding stock sale in Sydney. The segment, featuring 75 weanlings by first-season sires, will take place at the beginning of the auction.
