Rock of Gibraltar, winner of five Group 1 miles in England, Ireland, and France, was named European Horse of the Year as well as top 3-year-old male at the Cartier Racing Awards on Wednesday in London, based on votes by racing journalists and readers of Britain's Daily Telegraph, plus points earned in group races. Other Cartier winners were Grandera, older horse; Kazzia, 3-year-old filly; Hold that Tiger, 2-year-old colt; Six Perfections, 2-year-old filly; Continent, sprinter; and Vinnie Roe, stayer. . . . Equine Spectrum, the online bloodstock auction service, has changed the date for its upcoming online sale from Nov. 21 to Dec. 5. The Dec. 5 sale also will include lots previously scheduled to sell on Dec. 19. . . . A partnership of Mexican breeders including Jose Cerillo has purchased Grade 2 winner Islefaxyou to stand in Mexico in a deal brokered by agents Margaret "Sissy" Woolums and Chris Owens. A son of Storm Bird and the sire of stakes winners Zydeco Affair and Faxamillion, Islefaxyou stood in 2002 at Hopewell Farm in Midway, Ky.
