Jerry Bailey, sidelined since Monday because of a kidney stone, is expected to return to riding Saturday. "The tough part is over," he said. "It's gone from the kidney to the bladder." Bailey said he didn't necessarily have to pass the stone in order to ride. . . . The Oct. 11 Cliff Hanger Handicap at The Meadowlands and the Oct. 12 Lawrence Realization at Belmont, both Grade 3 races scheduled for the turf but switched to the main track because of heavy rain, will be recorded as ungraded for this year. The move is standard policy of the American Graded Stakes Committee . . . . Stallion Access will offer 65 no-guarantee stallion seasons and shares at its Nov. 8 sale of selected seasons and shares. The auction, to take place at 7:30 p.m. at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks facility in Lexington, Ky., will feature no-guarantee seasons to such stallions as Danzig, Cozzene, Kingmambo, Seeking the Gold, and Smoke Glacken, among many others. . . . Fair Grounds will induct three people and one horse into its hall of fame on March 8, 2003. The inductees are Fair Grounds chairman of the board Marie G. Krantz, owner-breeder Anthony L. Zuppardo, longtime racing official Francis P. Dunne, and Eclipse Award-winning filly Davona Dale.
