Ryan Fogelsonger, the leading apprentice rider in the country, lost one of his wins Wednesday when the Maryland stewards disqualified Knocking, a 3-year-old filly trained by Charles Hadry, from her win at Laurel Park on Aug. 2 because of a positive drug test. . . . Northlands Park canceled its eight-race program Wednesday evening because of poor track conditions. Racing was scheduled to resume Friday. . . . Brian William Paskalidis, son of Harry Paskalidis, a well-known horse owner at Hastings Park, was gunned down in an execution-style slaying outside of his father's home in Burnaby, British Columbia.
