The Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's fall mixed sale entered its second day Tuesday with an $80,000 broodmare, Angel Kate, the session leader as of 5:30 p.m. Eastern. Westbury Stables bought the mare from Summerfield agent. The four-day sale opened Monday with a 9 percent decline in gross, selling 150 lots for $2,046,400; but average rose 24 percent to $13,643. Monday's session-topper was the $82,000 With Approval mare Fully Approved, sold in foal to Exploit; Journeyman Bloodstock, agent sold her to South Korean buyer C & C International Trading. . . . A planned Seabiscuit bobble-head giveaway Saturday at Bay Meadows has been postponed because of a West Coast port closure. Bay Meadows has set no new date to distribute 8,500 bobble-heads. . . . Apprentice Ryan Fogelsonger, the leading rider at the summer-fall meeting at Pimlico, rode three winners on opening day of the fall meeting at Laurel on Tuesday. . . . The racetrack scenes that will air on HBO's "The Sopranos" on Sunday were shot at Monmouth Park in February. Sopranos cast members James Gandolfini, Steve Van Zant, and Jerry Adler were on location for the shoot. . . . The Delaware Racing Commission adopted a rule change, banning possession or use of medications for which there is no recognized analytical method, including erythropoietin (EPO). . . . Lone Star Park handled an average $1,023,598 a card during the first two nights of its Quarter Horse meet Friday and Saturday, a 32 percent increase over last year when the meet opened just nine days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
