Final approval of the sale of Lone Star Park near Dallas to Magna Entertainment is expected to come at a Texas Racing Commission meeting Sept. 19. The commission moved the date of its regularly scheduled October meeting up to September at the request of Lone Star, as background checks needed to approve the sale are nearing completion, according to officials with the TRC. . . . Sauvignon ($67.20), the second-longest shot in a field of nine filly and mare turf sprinters, slipped through an opening on the rail for jockey Mike McCarthy and held off late-charging Libby's Halo by a head to win Tuesday's $61,100 Julie Snellings Stakes at Delaware Park.
