Zippy Chippy, who has not won in 93 races against Thoroughbreds, defeated a human in a race for the second straight time. Zippy Chippy beat Rochester Red Wings outfielder Larry Bigbie in a 45-yard race Thursday at Frontier Field in Rochester, N.Y. . . . The New Mexico Racing Commission has delayed making a decision on a racing and gaming license for a new track owned by R.D. Hubbard, the former chairman of Hollywood Park Inc., until it can complete an investigation into Hubbard's forfeit of his gaming license in Indiana. Hubbard gave up his license last month and was fined $740,000 after the Indiana Gaming Commission alleged that he provided prostitutes to high rollers at a riverboat casino his company owns in the state. . . . The Jockey Club announced Friday that its members have elected the Marquess of Hartington as a member. The chairman of Ascot Racecourse in England, he is the first foreign racing official elected to The Jockey Club in the organization's 108-year history.
