John Franks's Franks Farm, which announced a major reduction in stock earlier this year, will begin that process on Aug. 19 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company in Ocala, Fla. The session will feature 88 yearlings and will immediately follow the OBS sale's regular auction of 216 selected yearlings. . . . The National Thoroughbred Racing Association approved an extension of a contract with ESPN until 2008 during a board meeting on Thursday. The NTRA also said that the organization was on budget for the year. . . . Stallion Access, a subsidiary of Fasig-Tipton, has cataloged 54 no-guarantee stallion seasons and shares for its sale on Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Humphrey S. Finney Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The auction includes seasons to Danzig, Diesis, Dixieland Band, Favorite Trick, Kingmambo, Red Ransom, Seeking the Gold, and Smoke Glacken, among others. . . . The Tattersalls Houghton selected yearling sale, set for Oct. 2-3 in Newmarket, England, has cataloged 193 lots, including one Storm Cat colt, a son of Mousse Glacee. Catalogs will be published on Aug. 9.
