Les Nichols, who has vowed to ride on horseback from the Alamo in San Antonio to Ground Zero in New York to raise money for disaster relief, is expected to arrive at Philadelphia Park on Thursday. His horse, JJ's Cowboy, will work three furlongs while being filmed by a crew from ESPN. . . . Chris Dragone has been named general manager at Great Lakes Downs, according to Jim Gagliano, the president of Magna Entertainment Corp.'s OTB operations. Dragone replaces Richard Wallington, who managed the track for two years before being relieved of his duties this week. . . . Jockey Joe Crispin underwent tests Tuesday morning at Mercy Hospital after apparently fracturing his neck in a training mishap at Great Lakes Downs, according to trainer Tammy White.
