Etc. . . .

Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta, canceled its Wednesday card after heavy snowfall hit the region and closed the track to training. The eight-race program will run unchanged on Friday. . . . Jockeys Nick Santagata and Roberto Alvarado were both in good condition following a two-horse spill in Saturday's eighth race at Philadelphia Park. Santagata bruised ribs and hopes to resume riding this weekend, while Alvarado, who has a badly bruised shoulder and needed stitches inside his mouth, expects to return to riding by opening day at Monmouth Park, May 18. . . . Jockey Jose Flores won five races Saturday afternoon at Philadelphia Park. He won the first race, the sixth, and swept the last three events on the 11-race card.
