Magna Entertainment, the racetrack company that owns Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park, raised $143 million from its recent stock offering after the underwriters - Bear Stearns, BMO Nesbitt Burns, and CIBC World Markets - purchased an additional 3 million shares in the company, the company announced. Magna had hoped to raise $171 million from the offering of 20 million shares.
