Etc. . . .

Trainer Steve Margolis said Thursday that Request for Parole will run next in the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 13, although he is unsure who will ride the colt. Request for Parole finished a close third under Pat Day in his most recent start, the Lane's End Spiral Stakes last Saturday at Turfway Park, but Day apparently has committed to ride Buddha on April 13 in the Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct. . . . Secret Romeo, a winner of nine of 12 starts and $241,000 last year as a 3-year-old, has been named Michigan's Horse of the Year for 2001. Secret Romeo, who won six stakes at Great Lakes Downs last year for owner Anthony Catenacci and trainer Gerald Bennett, is expected to make his next start in the Grade 1 Oaklawn Handicap on April 6. . . . Remington Park in Oklahoma City has reduced its upcoming fall Thoroughbred meet from 102 days to 76, and under the new schedule, the season will run from Aug. 10 to Dec. 23. The date reduction was approved by the Oklahoma Racing Commission on Thursday.
