Phil Borgemenke, a rider on the Ohio-West Virginia circuit from the mid-1950's to the mid-1970's died at Drake Hospital in Cincinnati on Jan. 29 at age 64. Borgemenke spent almost his entire riding career rotating between Beulah Park, Thistledown, and River Downs, where he was aboard Francine M on the Fourth of July, 1969, when the horse broke the 34-year-old track record for six furlongs, clocked in 1:08.60, a record that still stands. . . . Sportsman's Park will broadcast a new half-hour racing television program, "Post Time at Sportsman's" on FOX Sports Net Chicago each racing day at 5:30 p.m. Central during the track's upcoming meet, which opens March 1 and runs through May 4.
