Etc. . . .

The dam of leading turf filly Gorella is scheduled to be sold this year at the Tattersalls December sale, to take place in England from Nov. 20 to Nov. 30. The 9-year-old mare, Exciting Times, is by Jeune Homme, owned by Xaviar and Natalie Bozo, and in foal to Dubawi. . . . Jamie Martin has been promoted to senior vice president of racing - both Thoroughbred and Standardbred - for the Woodbine Entertainment Group, the company announced Thursday. Bruce Murray will assume Martin's old post of vice president of Standardbred racing. . . . There will be no live racing at Charles Town from Sunday through Nov. 1 while the racing surface undergoes maintenance and winterization. . . . Stephanie Husser of France and Annika Kallse of Sweden rode the winners of the two races in the International Amateur Riders Team Competition that were held at Laurel and the Meadowlands on Thursday. Husser, who now leads the competition - which also has races in Italy, Germany, France, and Great Britain and was to conclude Saturday at The Plains in Virginia - won the afternoon race at Laurel, while Kallse won the Meadowlands race that evening.
