Keeneland has cataloged 5,026 horses and one stallion season to Afleet Alex, the 2005 Preakness and Belmont winner, to its November breeding stock sale, which will run in Lexington, Ky., from Nov. 6 to 19. Catalogs for the sale, which will include 2,495 broodmares and 2,106 weanlings, will be available online Oct. 3 and in printed form Oct. 13. . . . Fasig-Tipton has cataloged 252 horses for its Nov. 5 select fall mixed sale at Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Ky. Catalogs, for the sale ? which will include 73 lots from the ClassicStar dispersal, 60 selected weanlings, and a draft of racing-age horses from Ireland?s Ballydoyle Stables ? will be available from Fasig-Tipton offices and representatives by Oct. 11. . . . Fire Slam, a Grade 2 winner by Grand Slam out of Miss Firefly, has retired from racing and will enter stud in 2007 at Vinery Florida. Fire Slam, who had the Grade 2 Riva Ridge and Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes among his four stakes wins, will stand for a $6,000 as the property of a syndicate. . . . Vindication, the champion juvenile of 2002 whose yearlings averaged $352,555 at the Keeneland September yearling auction, will not get a stud fee raise in 2007. He will continue to stand for $60,000 at Hill ?n? Dale Farms in Kentucky, the same as in 2006.
