Borrego, a dual Grade 1 winner and now a stallion at Wintergreen Stallion Station near Midway, Ky., will stand for $20,000 in 2007. Borrego, a 5-year-old son of El Prado who won the 2005 Pacific Classic and Jockey Club Gold Cup, will be available for viewing beginning at 11 a.m. daily during the Keeneland September sale. . . . Cryptograph, a Canadian Grade 3 winner who most recently finished third in the Dominion Day Stakes at Woodbine on July 1, has retired from racing, owner and breeder Josephine Abercrombie announced Tuesday, though stud plans have not been finalized. Cryptograph, a 5-year-old son of Cryptoclearance out of Hopes and Fears (Mt. Livermore), retires with a lifetime record of 7-3-3 from 20 starts and $531,705 in earnings. . . . Retired jockey Laffit Pincay Jr., whose 9,530 victories are more than any other rider's, will co-host with race announcer Chris Lincoln the Nov. 2 Taylor Made Farm White Horse Heroes luncheon and presentation of the Race Track Chaplaincy of America's White Horse Award at Churchill Downs. The award is given to a backstretch or racing farm worker judged to have performed the year's most heroic act on behalf of a human or horse.
