Grade 2-winning mare Josh's Madelyn has been retired to Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville, Ky., and will be bred in 2007 to Forestry, her owners Michael Pressley, Jim Neidig, and George Saufley announced Wednesday. A 5-year-old Quiet American-Intend to Win mare, Josh's Madelyn won the Grade 2 Raven Run Stakes in 2004 - the year she set a seven-furlong track record of 1:21.37 at Ellis Park - as well as two other stakes for a total record of 8-6-2 from 27 starts and $480,309 in earnings. . . . Multiple graded stakes winner Comic Strip - sire of such 2006 stakes winners as G G's Dolly, Press Camp, and Corazondelcampeon - has relocated from Lane's End in Kentucky to Rancho San Miguel in California. Comic Strip, a 10-year-old son of Red Ransom out of Now That's Funny (Saratoga Six), will stand as the property of a Lane's End partnership for a fee of $5,000. . . . Eivind Svendsen, an engineer who who worked for the New York Racing Association from 1961 through 1996, died Sunday of pancreatic cancer at age 73. He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Christopher and Peter; a daughter, Kara Gustafsson; and four grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday at the Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park, N.Y.
