The sale of a 15 percent interest in Hoosier Park and related offtrack betting operations has closed. The reported $4.5 million purchase by Centaur Racing from Churchill Downs Inc., now gives Centaur a 38-percent interest in the Anderson, Ind., track, while CDI retains 62 percent. . . . Stormy Smith, the apprentice jockey injured in a spill at Philadelphia Park on Nov. 27, has returned to his home in Oklahoma to recuperate. Smith, who broke his nose and the upper portion of his jaw and received 20 stitches to close a gash along the side of his nose, could resume riding in about a month. . . . Overbrook Farm announced Wednesday that it has completed the private sale of 1996 champion juvenile Boston Harbor (Capote-Harbor Springs, by Vice Regent) to the Japan Bloodstock Breeders Association in a deal brokered by Narvick International. Boston Harbor left Overbrook for New York on Monday, the day the sale was completed, and will ship from New York to Japan.
