Thoroughbred owner Harold A. "Sonny" Mayor died June 7 in Omaha at the age of 82. Mayor, the founder of Regency Farms, campaigned such stakes runners as Bold Trap, Ask De Naskra, Bold Move, and Happy Hollow Miss. . . . Tom Mulligan, a member of the Golden Gate Fields operations department for 45 years, died Thursday at age 82. Funeral services were scheduled Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Sunset View Mortuary in El Cerrito, Calif. . . . Suffolk Downs reopened for simulcasting Sunday after a power outage prevented the track from opening on Friday and Saturday. Live racing resumed Monday as scheduled. . . . Jockey Seb Sanders has been given an eight-day suspension for abuse of the whip aboard Confidential Lady, the 43-1 winner of the French Oaks at Chantilly on Sunday. Sanders, who hit his filly 32 times during the Oaks, four more times than the rules of French racing allow, will miss the entire meeting at Royal Ascot next week.
