Etc. . . .

Longtime horseman A. H. "Andy" Johnson died Thursday night at age 82 at St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill, Neb., following a lengthy illness. Johnson had a winner Monday, when a horse he owned and trained, What About David, won the Big Red Mile Stakes at the Lincoln State Fair. . . . Catlaunch extended his win streak to four with a three-length victory in the six-furlong Michael F. Memorial Handicap at Thistledown on Friday. Ridden by Ivan Gonzalez for trainer Ivan Vasquez, Catlaunch ($3.20) covered the distance in 1:10.28.
