Woodbine canceled the last seven races on its nine-race card on Sunday because of high winds, which were gusting from the northwest at speeds up to 50 miles per hour. The Grade 3 Selene Stakes, a $250,000 event for 3-year-olds fillies, was rescheduled for Wednesday night. . . . Trainers Michael W. Nance and Flint W. Stites both had their 1,000th winners on Friday. Nance sent out Ben's Reflection, winner of the ninth race at Thistledown, while Stites trains Luvstorumble, winner of the third race at Penn National. . . . Jim Bowes, deputy racing commissioner with the Michigan Office of Racing Commissioner since 1993, has resigned and taken a new job within Michigan state government. Bowes's new position will be with the Department of Agriculture's pesticide and plant pest management division.
