Mountaineer Race Track announced a 12 percent increase in average daily purses to $160,000, effective in January. The increase comes on the heels of a purse boost six months ago, which brought the daily average to its current level of $142,000. . . . In a tribute to George Harrison, who died Thursday, Hawthorne Race Course has named 10 of its 11 Sunday races for his songs. The card begins with the "My Sweet Lord," includes the "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and concludes with the "Crackerbox Palace." . . . A Fayette, Ky., County Circuit Court judge declined Friday to dismiss a lawsuit filed by former Jockeys' Guild National Manager John Giovanni against the Guild, five of its representatives, and its new management company, Matrix Capital Associates. The judge asked lawyers for both sides to study the issue further for an unscheduled hearing.
