Kazzia won the the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in England on Sunday in a 14-1 upset for Godolphin.

The 1000 Guineas lost its favorite, Queen's Logic, when she turned up lame on Saturday morning. Trainer Mick Channon said the injury was slight and that she would return in the Irish 1000 Guineas on May 26.

Pressing the pace of Lahinch, Kazzia took the lead at the quarter pole and was put to an all-out drive to record a neck victory over Snowfire with Alasha another neck back in third. Lahinch faded to seventh while the 11-8 choice Gossamer was eighth, beaten five lengths. Kazzia, still unbeaten after three races, will go next in the English Oaks on June 7.
