Parity was the word of the day at the final session of the under-tack preview show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age. Eight juveniles tied for the fastest furlong work, and four shared the fastest quarter-mile on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface. Well-bred freshman sire Can the Man, a son of successful sire Into Mischief and from the female family of Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour, was represented by a juvenile in each of those groups. A Can the Man filly worked a furlong in 10 seconds flat, putting her among the octet atop the leaderboard at that distance. The filly, consigned by bloodstock agent Paul Sharp, is out of the stakes-placed Pioneering mare Pi Bella. Another Can the Man filly tied for the fastest quarter, going in 21 seconds flat. The filly, a half-sister to stakes-placed What What What, is consigned by Top Line Sales, as agent. The other sale entrants working their furlong in 10 seconds were a colt by Magna Graduate, a filly by Strong Mandate, a filly by Rattlesnake Bridge, a filly by First Samurai, a filly by Gio Ponti, a filly by Sidney's Candy, and a filly by Super Ninety Nine. The remaining trio tied for the fastest quarter-mile were a colt by Winslow Homer, a colt by Gemologist, and a colt by Atreides. A filly by The Factor consigned by All Dreams Equine worked three eighths in :33 flat to post the fastest work at that distance. The OBS June auction runs Wednesday through Friday.
