Eight juveniles crack 10 seconds at OBS March breeze show


Juveniles picked up the pace during the second day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March sale of 2-year-olds in training under-tack show Friday, with eight horses tying the overall fastest time at an 1/8-mile, and three others taking over the lead at a quarter.

The horses breezed over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

Eight horses breezed an eighth in 9 4/5 seconds Friday, joining the two that did so Thursday as the overall fastest workers as the breeze show enters its final session.

- Hip 193, a Concord Point filly out of the stakes-placed Chief Seattle mare Bold Outlook, whose three winners from five runners includes stakes winner Concealedwithakiss. Grade 2 winner Call Me Up and Peruvian Group 2 winner Peyback Manning are in the Florida-bred's family. SGV Thoroughbreds consigns her, as agent.

- Hip 201, a first-crop Itsmyluckyday colt out of the Grade 2-winning Adcat mare Briecat, who has one foal to race. Consigned by Golden Legacy Stable, the colt's page features stakes winners Klassy Briefcase, Mr. Miesque, Stu's Choice, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Uptown Boy.

- Hip 223, a first-crop Cairo Prince colt out of the winning Pico Central mare Central Moves. A half-sibling to two winners from as many runners out of the dam, he is from the family of Grade 2 winners Par Flite and Wall Street Dancer, as well as Grade 2-placed stakes winner Hi Tech Honeycomb. - Hip 249, a Shackleford colt out of the winning Indian Charlie mare Corleone, who has had one foal to race. Consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center, the colt is from the family of Grade 3 winner Voodoo and stakes winners including Swede, It's the Swede, Balustrade, Super Saks, Dirt Monster, and Sunset Ridge.

- Hip 266, a first-crop Verrazano colt out of the winning Danzig mare Deceit, whose three winners from six foals to race include Grade 2-placed stakes winner Afleet Deceit and stakes-placed Bella Traviata. The Florida-bred's family also features Canadian champion Rahy's Attorney, Grade 2 winner India, and notable broodmare Pilfer. SBM Training and Sales consigns him, as agent.

- Hip 289, an Awesome Again colt out of the Grade 3-winning El Prado mare El Prado Essence. The mare's seven foals to race are all winners, led by two-time Canadian champion sprinter Essence Hit Man. Grade 3 winner Scherer Magic is in the Ontario-bred's extended family. He is consigned by Bobby Dodd, as agent.

- Hip 298, a Jimmy Creed colt out of the winning Speightstown mare Evangelical, whose three foals to race are all winners. Bred in New York, he hails from a family that includes Canadian champion Knights Templar, Grade 2 winner Eaton's Gift, Grade 3 winner No Problem, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner For All Seasons. He is consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent.

- Hip 341, a Tapizar filly out of the winning Unbridled's Song mare Good Witch Glinda, whose four foals to race are all winners. Her third dam is the Grade 1 winner Broom Dance, putting her in the family of Grade 3 winner End Sweep and stakes winner Under the Rug. Brick City Thoroughbreds consigns the filly, as agent.

- Hip 363, a Justin Phillip filly out of the Grade 1-placed stakes-winning Salt Lake mare High Heeled Hope. The mare has had eight winners from 10 runners, including Grade 1-placed stakes winner Sweet Hope, stakes-placed Highgate Park, and stakes producer Well Heeled Lady. Three horses lowered the overall fastest time across two furlongs to 20 3/5 seconds.

- Hip 279, a The Factor colt out of the Grade 2-winning Cherokee Run mare Dream About, whose five winners from seven runners includes Grade 2 winner Deeply Undervalued, Grade 3-placed stakes winner Sleepless Knight, and stakes-placed Sleepless Dixie. - Hip 285, a first-crop Real Solution colt out of the winning Grand Slam mare Easy Slam. All four of Easy Slam's foals to race are winners, including Grade 3 winner Kitten Kaboodle. Chilean Horse of the Year Ballistic is in the extended family, as are Chilean Broodmare of the Year Balladry, English Group 3 winner Gold Seam, and Grade 1-placed stakes winner Dance to My Tune. - Hip 368, a Kantharos colt out of the unraced Came Home mare Home in Time, who is the dam of three winners from five runners. The Florida-bred's third dam is Felicita, putting him in the family of Broodmare of the Year Take Charge Lady, champions Will Take Charge and Take Charge Brandi, Grade 1 winner Take Charge Indy, and Grade 2 winner Straight Story. The OBS March breeze show concludes Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern. The auction will be held March 13-14, starting at 10:30 a.m.
