Egyptband heads Prix de Saint-Cloud

Egyptband looms a short priced favorite Sunday in the 1 1/2-mile Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.

Recent winner of the Grand Prix de Chantilly, the Criquette Head-Maarek trained filly will be aided by a rabbit, stablemate Roman Saddle. Second in last year's Arc, the French Oaks winner is developing into a filly who will give th boys all they can handle throughout the season.

Females could dominate this race. Acceleration and Beyond the Waves are coming off a sharp one-two in the Group 3 Prix Corrida, but Perfect Sunday, trained by Barry Hills for Khalid Abdullah, gets the nod for second. The Quest For Fame colt will appreciate Saint-Cloud's galloping contours more than he did the hills of Epsom where he finished sixth behind Galileo in the Epsom Derby after having led to the quarter pole.
