Eclipse ceremony site changed

The 2001 Eclipse Awards ceremony will be moved to a different hotel in south Florida because of construction delays at the previous site, the event's planner, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, said Monday.

The awards presentation will now be held at the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort in Miami Beach, instead of the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in nearby Hollywood. The date of the event, Feb. 18, is unchanged.

The Fontainebleau is located approximately 10 miles south of the Westin, a new resort that has had its mid-January opening delayed because of construction problems. NTRA officials began scouting alternate sites in December after a water leak flooded two floors of the new hotel.
