Eastern invader class of Czaria

The invaders come in loaded for bear for Sunday's $54,400 Czaria Handicap at Sunland. The six-furlong event for fillies and mares attracted a field of eight, and most of the focus figures to be on two horses, each coming from a different direction.

Savorthetime invades from the East and comes off what were likely her two best races. Trained by Steve Asmussen, Savorthetime won the Dream Supreme Handicap at Churchill Downs on Nov. 26, then came back to win the Grade 3 First Lady Handicap at Gulfstream Park Jan. 22. She earned Beyer Speed Figures of 103 and 104 for those two races and looms the heavy favorite here. She's been tabbed the 124-pound highweight and will break from the rail under jockey Glen Murphy.

Devil Dancing ships in from northern California for trainer Carl Dyer off a string of good races, mostly routes. Still, she's 4 for 15 at this distance. She was second in a tough optional claimer at Golden Gate Jan. 27 and was claimed that day for $50,000. She has since posted a bullet five-furlong work here in 1:00.20. Alex Jimenez rides at 118 pounds.

The second highweight at 120 pounds is Yet Anothernatalie, who is likely the best of the local hopes. Trained by Henry Dominguez, Yet Anothernatalie impressively won an allowance race here Dec. 11 after three months off, then was third to the classy Souris in the Bold Ego Handicap here on Jan. 2. J. Martin Bourdieu rides.

The other main local hope, Sandia's Flicka, figures to appreciate being back with the girls. Second to Souris and ahead of Yet Anothernatalie in the Jan. 2 Bold Ego, she was thrown in against the boys in the Budweiser Handicap here Jan. 29. She chased the pace and tired to finish sixth. Sandia's Flicka carries 117 pounds with jockey Perry Whetstone aboard.
