Dugaboy Brown dominated the $40,272 CTBA Derby at Arapahoe Park on Saturday, when he darted to a 4 3/4-length win over Noble Artist. It was another 5 3/4-lengths back in third to R Dub.

The 1 1/16-mile race was restricted to 3-year-olds bred in Colorado.

Dugaboy Brown ($5.80) was content to stalk Lou Who, as that one put up fractions of 23.92 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.36 for the half-mile and 1:12.49 for six furlongs. Dugaboy Brown took over from there, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:47.55.

Mike Ziegler was aboard the winner for trainer Kenneth Gleason.

Dugaboy Brown earned $24,162 for owner Annette Bishop. He is a son of Big Brown and he was bred by Menoken Farms.
