DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday was a light training day for the two Dale Romans-trained horses here, with Dullahan going once around the main track at Meydan, and Little Mike jogging over the Tapeta surface on the training track located just southeast of the big track.

Little Mike, who is bound for the Dubai Duty Free, was the more composed of the pair. Dullahan, who starts in the World Cup, was hot and lathered upon his arrival at the track from the quarantine barn, prancing and dancing under his regular rider Tammy Fox, who has been with the horses since their World Cup Night prep races March 9.

Romans said the paths of the two horses diverged after the Breeders’ Cup Turf, which Little Mike won and in which Dullahan finished ninth. Dullahan was briefly taken out of training, but Little Mike never was let down during the winter.

“We never did stop on him,” Romans said. “We kept him in light training after the Breeders’ Cup. Dullahan, he looks better than when I saw him over here the first time, before he ran. He got the race he needed. He’s pretty fit now.”
