DRF Tournaments adds three new contest feeders to major events

One week after adding three new contests to the lineup, DRF Tournaments is at it again: New contest feeders for the Ultimate Betting Challenge, the Keeneland Grade 1 Gamble, and Monmouth’s Pick Your Prize contest are available for entry now at tournaments.drf.com.

The Ultimate Betting Challenge takes place March 11 at both Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita and is expected to feature a massive prize pool. The Grade 1 Gamble is April 23 and has developed a reputation as a go-to spot for serious tournament players across the country and in Canada. Pick Your Prize, which takes place June 3, arrived on the scene last year with a bang and is expected to be even bigger this year.

These three events join the Horse Player World Series, the Wynn Challenge, and Del Mar’s Betting Challenge as cornerstones of the current DRF Tournament inventory. There will be low buy-in feeders for six contests from Wednesday through Sunday.

Some of the feeder events require players to finish in the top 10 percent to advance, while others have higher buy-ins but allow the top 20 percent to advance. Both of these feeder formats place a greater emphasis on picking winners and getting points as opposed to having to either string together a bunch of winners or pick a few longshots. Because of the reduced level of difficulty, low downside, and high upside, these events are ideal for players new to the contest world.

Meanwhile, this weekend, DRF Tournaments will be running qualifiers – where players can win into the big contests directly (as opposed to feeders, where one qualifies for the qualifiers). On Saturday, there are three main events:

For $50, players can compete in the all-in format (where all picks must be in before the scheduled post time of the first contest race) in a credit-builder event where $2,500 in site credit will be awarded.

For $110, there is a live-format qualifier for the Wynn Challenge at the Wynn Las Vegas on Aug. 4-5. Up to two $2,500 prize packages will be on offer, including Wynn berths and $500 in travel. The ratio of prizes to entries is one in 26.

For $400, players can get a chance to win full $7,500 Del Mar prize packages ($7,000 buy-in plus $500 in travel). The Del Mar Handicapping Challenge takes place July 29-30. One winning package will be awarded for every 22 entries.

On Sunday, the Horse Player World Series, with its expected seven-figure prize pool, takes center stage. The event takes place March 30 to April 1 at the Orleans in Las Vegas. For $90, there’s an all-in Horse Player World Series qualifier. Winners will receive $1,000 HPWS entries plus $500 in travel; one prize package per 19 entries.
