Daily Racing Form will conduct a series of three monthly handicapping contests called DRF Bets Tournament League starting in April, with the three winners earning a seat at the 2012 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Championship as well as a free trip to Las Vegas.
The contests, which will also be held in May and June, will feature live-money bets. To participate, players will use their DRF Bets accounts to make one $2 win wager on DRF.com’s designated "Race of the Day" every Wednesday through Sunday for a month. The player with the highest earnings will win a seat at the handicapping championship finals, and airfare and hotel expenses for the trip to Las Vegas in January 2012. Past performance packages will be awarded for each month’s top 10 finishers.
The 2012 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship will award more than $2.1 million dollars in prize money, with more than $1 million going to the grand prize winner. Daily Racing Form is title sponsor of the handicapping championship, and this is the first time it will hold a qualifying tournament for the National Handicapping Championship finals.

CHASING MOONLIGHT was involved in a three-way skirmish for the lead and saved the place behind win machine Rigby ($2.70), matching his career top Beyer first time off the claim; this appears to be a much easier pace scenario assuming another alert break from the rail. The 9-year-old TEMECULA CREEK shook out the kinks to win big second time back from a short layoff, notching best number since last summer; David Jacobson 29% with 1-7 day wheelbacks in 2012-13. OVEREXTENDED clearly out of his element on grass in first start for current connections; mild rally behind 3-for-3 Hay Shares two back.
