Drexler wins with 6 straight mounts

Jockey Hoogie Drexler had a big holiday weekend at Turf Paradise, winning with six straight mounts that included five consecutive races.

Drexler began his roll Sunday, winning with his only two mounts, Lady Mountbatten ($4.40) in the fifth race and Papila ($11.40) in the ninth and final race of the day. He then won Monday's first four races, with Iseeyoubaby ($4.80), Irvington ($6.60), Sheza Gladiator ($4.40) and Sir Rubi ($8.20).

Four of Drexler's six winners were trained by Eric Kruljac (Lady Mountbatten, Pipila, Irvington, and Sir Rubi), who took over the lead in the trainer standings with 8 victories from 16 runners through Monday.

Drexler's streak came to an end when in Monday's sixth race, he finished third aboard Galavant.
