Dressed for Action victorious

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Dressed for Action edged another daughter of Bold 'n Flashy, favored Miss Crissy, to capture the $166,500 Ontario Damsel Stakes at Woodbine Sunday.

Dressed for Action battled on the lead with Elusive Thought under Robert Landry through splits of :22.49 and :45.06 seconds in the six and a half-furlong turf dash for 3-year-old fillies.

Miss Crissy loomed into contention early in the stretch, where she was struck by the whip of Dee's Love's rider. Dee's Love was subsequently bumped by Miss Crissy inside the eighth pole, before the latter closed to finish a nose shy of Dressed for Action. Tamara was third in the nine-horse field of Canadian-breds. The final time was 1:16.75.

There was a long inquiry after the race, but the order of finish stood because the stewards ruled that the two infractions involving Miss Crissy and Dee's Love were offsetting.

Dressed for Action earned $99,900 while notching her first stakes for Shoestring Stable. Trained by Tony Mattine, she returned $12.30 as the fifthbetting choice.
