Dreamsandvisions captures Evangeline Mile

Marvelously consistent and racing over his sixth different track in his last six starts, Dreamsandvisions rallied from off the pace under Luis Quinonez to capture Saturday night's $150,000 Evangeline Mile at Evangeline Downs. Longshot Biloxi Pride also came from well back to finish second followed by favored Stockholder and Mauk Fourth. Biloxi Breeze, Watchem Smokey, High Strike Zone and Salic Law completed the order of finish.

"I wasn't worried being last in the early stages as they were going at a solid clip and my horse was nice and relaxed," said Quinonez after the race. "When I asked him to go at the three-eighths pole, he immediately pinned his ears and went after them."

Dreamsandvisions ($15.00 is trained by Steven Duke and owned by Sandra Duke. The 4-year-old Kipling gelding has now won seven of his 17 starts and his biggest payday to date increased his career bankroll to over $300,000.
